Hi, I'm here, and still pregnant! My cousin who was due the day after me had her baby two weeks ago, and I just got a phone call that my OTHER cousin who was due a WEEK AFTER me is in labor NOW.
We will be inducing tuesday, the 21st if nothing happens.
I have been:
Walking around the block
Nesting like crazy
Eating collard greens
Everything else I can think of aside from the castor oil.
My cervix has not even thought about thinning.
Gah.

I love to get things monogrammed. I love the names I have chosen for both my girls, and love to show it off. But now with baby number 2 quickly approaching I have realized that all my monogramming during Bella's babyhood has left a number of things unusable for Amelia. So, when ordering new clothe (from Melissa, of course) I decided to just have a V, for our last name, embroidered on a dress so that I could be sure to pass it down. But there was a problem.
When I pulled it out of the bag, the following conversation occurred:
B: What. Is. THAT?
Me: It's your new outfit, don't you love it?
B: Yes, but what is that letter on it?
Me: It's a V.
B: But I don't start with a V.
Me: Yes you do. Your last name does, same as mine and dad's and Amelia's.
B: No, I don't START with that. I start with an I or a B, but NOT THAT V.
Me: But you DO. And this way, if we start putting a V on things, Amelia can wear it too when you are done? Don't you want Meli to wear your clothes?
B: Yes. And she can have this NOW. Because I don't start with a V. I'm not wearing it.
Me. You don't think it is pretty?
B: Yes, but it has a V. And I DON'T. START. WITH. A. V.
Me: Please, will you just try it on?
B: No.
Me. What can I do to get you to wear this dress?
B: I'll wear it if you let me wear my glass slippers (her clear plastic jellies that I despise, because of the cases of grimy smelly playground foot that accompanies them).
Me: (for lack of orange shoes anyway). Okay. Whatever.
B: It's a Deal. But next time you need to remember that I don't start with that letter. Just a B, or and I, Momma.
Sigh.
Anyway, here is the dreaded V outfit. I love it. Melissa is the BEST.

when I feel WAY pregnant. My feet are starting to swell a bit, I'm having these behind the eyeballs headaches, and I am just TIRED. I suppose that I didn't feel this way with Isabella because of several reasons, one being I was about 15 pounds lighter, I wasn't working, and I spent my days couching at my grandmother's who provided me with decaf tea and enough turnip greens and corn bread to make anyone feel good. I passed the time with a novel and a porch swing, enjoying the incessant thumping in my belly. THe only setback during this time was the appearance of HEARTBURN and lots of it, but that was only at night, and hey, if I was up to late, well, I'd just sleep IN. With my dogs. In the peace and quiet.
Now? I get up at 5:30 to get myself and Isabella ready for school, leave the house by 6:45 at the latest, drop Isabella off at daycare, stand out at bus duty, teach all day with only a 45 minute break, coach a girl's trio, pick Bella up from dance or tumbling or daycare, get home MAYBE by five. On Tuesday's and Thursday's my dear husband cooks dinner, but Monday, Wednesday's and Friday's he has class or guitar lessons so Isabella and I fend for ourselves. Then its bath, reading, getting clothes ready to start all over. I get a bit of a break while Isabella watches COPS with her dad.
So, yeah. I'm a bit tired. I am trying to take it easy. Last week I MADE time for myself and read the Twilight series which I LOVED. But I guess that I am not tired without reason, and I definately should not be too hard on myself for not feeling as exhuberant during this pregnancy as I did with Isabella. I definately am excited about the arrival of Amelia Bright, and can hardly wait to see what her little personality is like. If she is anything like her sister, WHOA... look out.

We have the hardest time finding clothes to fit my tall slim girl. Well, rather, clothes that I like and that she will agree to wear AND that will fit her and that ARE NOT A PRINCESS COSTUME.
Luckily, a wonderful woman named Melissa moved into our area, and I teach her wonderful children. She sews. She is amazing. Her prices are VERY reasonable, everything is custom made and of boutique quality.
So, I thought I'd share my two most recent purchases here.
Bella absolutely adores wearing her outfits from Ms. Melissa-- and loves all the matching hairbows she makes too!

...asks me if I am sure that my due date isn't until april...
...asks me if the doctors are SURE that there aren't TWO babies in there...
...tells me that I'm moving slow...
...tells me that I'm WADDLING...
...laughs at me as I'm trying to get out of bed or a sofa...
I'M GOING TO SIT ON THEM!

Anyone who knows Sam KNOWS that she has one of the most inquiring minds. And for lack of creativity of my own enough to spit out posts, I am going to humor her inquiries.
She asked, how is pregnancy for me the second time around. I have to say, it has been different. Here is the lowdown:
Morning sickness: none
AFTERNOON SICKNESS: not as much as with Bella.
Overall Queasiness: WORSE. I could not walk into my pantry or the girls bathroom at school without gagging.
Sleepiness: WORSE. Of course with my first pregnancy I was working in an office by myself, so I could nap whenever I wanted. Now, with 30 1st graders singing Miss Mary Mack at the top of their lungs, not so much.
Weight Gain: DON'T Even want to talk about it, but lets just say that I am 3 months away from my due date and I look the same as the day I went into the hospital with Bella. I am carrying Amelia Bright very HIGH. Just as soon as I found out I was pregnant, the next week I couldn't button my pants. NIIIIIIIIICE.
Anxiety: So far, Amelia looks and is measuring just the same as Isabella, but I am a little worried for some reason that this delivery will not be as blissful as my delievery of bella. Really, ya'll, I couldn't have asked for a better delivery, and I am afraid my good luck will have run out.
So, really thats about it. Other than being ecstatic and not at all dissapointed that this is another girl. I know girls. I am good with girls. I have PROOF.

Samantha of sundayschoolrebel, seems to think that my child is always shiny and neat and clean. Behold, proof, that it is not always so. But you know what? I think I like her better this way. At least I know she's having fun.
